Getting started with Kochdaheim
What is Kochdaheim?
Kochdaheim is a marketplace that connects private households with experienced chefs. Instead of ordering food or cooking yourself, fresh meals are prepared either regularly through a weekly cooking plan or for special occasions as a Signature Event.
Kochdaheim coordinates the process and ensures clear, reliable workflows, while chefs work independently and cook directly for you.
How does Kochdaheim work?
You choose whether you’d like to request a weekly cooking plan or a Signature Event. After your request, we suggest suitable chefs and connect you with the right person. The menu, schedule, and any preferences are then discussed directly.
Kochdaheim coordinates the process and remains available as a point of contact, while the chefs work independently.
Who are the chefs?
All chefs on Kochdaheim are independent professionals with experience in private or professional kitchens. Each brings their own background, cooking style, and expertise, ranging from weekly cooking plans to Signature Events.
Before joining Kochdaheim, chefs are carefully reviewed. We focus on quality, reliability, and a good personal fit. Kochdaheim handles coordination and ensures clear processes, while chefs work independently and cook directly for you.
Can I trust someone cooking in my home?
Yes. Trust is a core part of Kochdaheim. You always know who is coming, can view the chef’s profile in advance, and communicate directly with them.
Our chefs work professionally and treat your home with care and respect. If there are any questions or coordination needed, Kochdaheim remains available at all times.
In which cities is Kochdaheim available?
Kochdaheim is currently available in selected cities, starting with Berlin. Availability depends on the city and the current capacity of our chefs.

Weekly Cooking Plans
What is a weekly cooking plan?
A weekly cooking plan is a recurring cooking service for everyday life. A dedicated chef prepares fresh meals in your home, tailored to your preferences, your routine, and your personal situation.
The focus is on reliable, home-cooked food for several days a week, designed to reduce everyday stress and save you time.
How many days per week are covered?
A weekly cooking plan is designed to provide you with freshly cooked meals on multiple days each week. The exact number of days depends on the plan you choose and the individual agreement with your chef.
The goal is meaningful everyday relief, without rigid rules.
Is there a minimum commitment?
Yes. Every weekly cooking plan starts with a fixed trial week. After the trial week, the plan automatically continues as a monthly booking.
The monthly booking is flexible and can be cancelled. Cancellation is possible with one week’s notice before the end of the current month. This means you need to let us know at least one week before the start of the next month if you wish to end the plan.
How is the price for a weekly cooking plan calculated?
The price of a weekly cooking plan is set by the chef as a weekly rate. It depends on your household, the scope of the service, the effort involved, and the agreed services.
After the trial week, the plan is billed monthly. Payment is usually made in advance for the upcoming month.
How does the trial week work?
During the trial week, the cooking service takes place for a full week, exactly as it would in the regular setup. You get to experience the chef, the coordination, and the quality of the meals in your daily routine.
At the end of the trial week, you decide whether you’d like to continue the weekly cooking plan as a monthly booking.
Are ingredients included in the price?
Yes. Ingredients are included as part of the weekly cooking plan and are organized by the chef. Selection is based on the planned menu, your preferences, and seasonal availability.
You don’t need to worry about shopping or preparation.
Can I specify preferences or dietary restrictions?
Yes. Before starting, you discuss your taste preferences, eating habits, and any dietary restrictions directly with your chef. These are taken into account during menu planning.
The weekly cooking plan is designed to adapt to your life, not the other way around.
Signature Events
What is a Signature Event?
A Signature Event is a one-off culinary experience for special occasions. A chef plans and cooks a personalised menu for you and your guests, tailored to the occasion, your taste, and the setting.
Signature Events are ideal for celebrations, private dinners, birthdays, or special evenings where great food takes centre stage.
What occasions are Signature Events suitable for?
Signature Events are perfect for private dinners, birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations with smaller or larger groups, and special occasions where you want to host without having to cook yourself.
The exact setup is planned individually with your chef.
How is the price for a Signature Event determined?
The price for a Signature Event is individually calculated by the chef, often on a per-person basis. It depends on factors such as the menu, number of guests, level of effort, and duration of the event.
Before booking, you receive a clear offer based on the event details and number of guests, so all services and costs are transparent.
Payment terms are communicated clearly as part of the booking and may vary depending on the event.
What is included in a Signature Event?
A Signature Event includes menu planning and the preparation of the dishes, with cooking taking place in your home or within the agreed setup. Depending on the offer, grocery shopping, preparation, and advance coordination may also be included.
The exact services are clearly described in the individual offer from each chef.
Can menus be customised?
Yes. Menus for Signature Events are planned individually. You can discuss preferences, dietary restrictions, and special ideas directly with your chef.
The chef tailors the menu to your occasion and your guests.
Are there additional services that can be added?
Yes. Depending on the chef and the event, additional services may be available, such as service staff, premium ingredients, extra courses, or an extended setup.
Optional extras are listed separately and can be added individually.
How far in advance should I book a Signature Event?
Signature Events should ideally be requested as early as possible to allow enough time for planning and coordination. Short-notice requests may also be possible, depending on the chef’s availability.
The earlier you enquire, the greater the flexibility and choice.
Pricing and payment
Who sets the prices?

Kochdaheim provides the framework for transparent bookings but does not interfere with individual pricing.

Changes and cancellations
What happens if I need to change or cancel an appointment?
If you need to change or cancel an appointment, please inform Kochdaheim as early as possible. We’ll coordinate the change with the chef and take care of the next steps.
This ensures that everyone involved is informed in time and that a suitable solution can be found.
What rules apply to weekly cooking plans?
Weekly cooking plans start with a trial week and then continue as a monthly booking. The plan can be ended with one week’s notice before the end of the current month.
Any changes or pauses are communicated transparently as part of the booking and agreed together.
What happens if the chef has to cancel at short notice?
If a chef is unexpectedly unavailable, Kochdaheim will inform you immediately. Together, we’ll look for a suitable solution, such as a replacement date or an alternative arrangement.
Kochdaheim handles the coordination and actively supports finding a solution.
What happens in unforeseen situations?
In unforeseen situations, we focus on open communication and pragmatic solutions. The goal is to find a fair outcome that takes everyone’s situation into account.
Kochdaheim supports the process throughout.
What applies when cancelling a Signature Event?
Signature Events have separate cancellation terms. Since ingredients are purchased in advance and the chef reserves the date exclusively for you, last minute cancellations may not always be free of charge.
Depending on when the cancellation takes place, already incurred costs, such as ingredients or preparation, may apply. The exact cancellation terms are shared transparently before booking and are part of the offer.

Our aim is to take responsibility and make sure you’re not left on your own.
